Lexington Water Treatment Plant

Lexington, IL

PAST PERFORMANCE - Construction of this new Water Treatment Plant ensures reliable water for generations to come. The new Water Treatment Plant replaces the current water plant built in 1946. The new plant included installation of a horizontal pressure filter to remove iron, ion exchange vessels to continue to provide softened water, anion exchange vessels to reduce color, a 100,000-gallon ground storage tank and a new groundwater supply well (well #8). The new water plant also treats groundwater from the City's four existing wells.
