John Sutherland brings over thirty years of leadership experience in the construction industry. Throughout his career, John has held a variety of significant roles, including serving as President of a major midwest construction firm. In his current role, he is focused on the continuous improvement of PJ Hoerr's operations and driving the company's expansion into new markets and sectors. John also serves as the Vice President of Reinhardt Construction LLC, a Columbia, Missouri-based general contractor and construction manager that is a wholly owned subsidiary of PJ Hoerr.
John is a graduate of Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction. John has served as Past President of the Central Illinois Builders and Past President of the Greater Peoria Contractors & Suppliers Association, where he also held roles as an Industry Fund Trustee and Labor Committee Chair. John has also contributed to numerous industry organizations, including serving on the board of the Builder’s Association Kansas City Chapter of AGC as well as leading numerous industry diversity efforts and was honored as the 2018 Tricon/Better Built Construction Person of the Year.
John is equally committed to his community, serving on the boards of organizations like Illinois Central College, The CEO Council, The Children's Home, Neighborhood House and United Way. In his spare time, John enjoys all things related to classic and custom cars.
