Last evening P.J. Hoerr/Summit held their quarterly Safety Meeting at the Peoria P.J. Hoerr office. Approximately 80 were in attendance. To start off the meeting Corporate Safety Director Hans Hinrichsen introduced Bob St. Clair and Matt Bender of Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters. Bob's topic was Electrical Hazards. He discussed common issues when working with or near energized equipment.
During this meeting the company honored carpenter Dan Blazevich who is retiring after 19 years of employment with P.J. Hoerr. CEO Bob Hoerr talked about Dan's leadership in mentoring the younger apprentices and journeyman he worked with on various projects. Bob concluded the meeting stressing that gambling in your personal life is your own decision, however gambling with safety on the job site affects not only you but those around you and the overall financial well being, reputation and integrity of the company.
