Joe Hart Retirement Celebration

December 17, 2019

In 1984 Joe Hart came to work at PJ Hoerr as a carpenter foreman running work at Wildlife Prairie Park.  After 2 years in that position, his ability to run larger projects soon became evident and he was assigned to major projects with such diverse clients as Caterpillar and OSF St. Francis.  Around 1988, after the departure of a key Project Manager employee, current company CEO Bob Hoerr asked Joe to consider coming out of the field to assist him in managing the Project Management and Estimating aspects of the business.  Over the following years, Joe was involved directly in working with Bob and future owners Kirk Anderson and Paul Bright in developing the Building Operation of PJH into the major enterprise that it is today, rising to the rank of President and Chief Operating Officer.  Joe was also integral in establishing the subsidiary enterprises of Summit Masonry, Benchmark Cabinets & Millwork and Van Buskirk Steel.  Joe was also well respected within the local construction industry serving on various industry boards and negotiating committees and being named as Construction Person of the Year by the Greater Peoria Contractor and Suppliers Association.

On Friday, December 13th the company gathered to help Joe celebrate his retirement as of the end of 2019.  Many stories, experiences, laughs, memories, and appreciations were expressed at the Roast and Toast.  As Joe enters into his well-deserved retirement the entire PJH organization wishes Joe, his wife Sherry and their family their deepest thanks for his many years of dedicated service and a wish for the richest of God’s blessings in this next phase of his life.  A job well done Joe.
