Illinois Central College - Workforce Sustainability Center - East Peoria, IL

August 18, 2022

Today found exterior vapor barrier being installed, wrapping up interior framing, and 3/4 of the way done with the roofing.  This $12 million Workforce Sustainability Center will help both first-time students and career changers while also building our region’s credentialed workforce to 60% by the year 2025.

In Greater Peoria, 60% of jobs require a credential past high school. Currently, only 40% of adults in the region have a post-secondary credential. The new Workforce Sustainability Center will help to build a credentialed workforce to the needed 60% by offering pre-apprenticeship and entry-level training in the 13 programs most essential to accelerating workforce development and manufacturing in Central Illinois.

The Workforce Sustainability Center will be a tremendous asset for our region’s economy to attract new investment, support, and growth with a ready and skilled talent pool for years to come.
