Meet Claire Wilson, the newest member of our safety team and our Safety Engineer at PJ Hoerr. Claire holds a degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Illinois State University, where she graduated in just three years, a testament to her drive and commitment. She chose to pursue safety as a career because it allows her to make a direct impact on the well-being of workers, ensuring that everyone returns home safely at the end of the day. While at ISU, Claire served as the Vice President of the American Society of Safety Professionals student section, gaining valuable leadership experience and attending industry conferences.
Claire is passionate about growing safety education at PJ Hoerr. She’s already contributed by updating our hazard communication program and developing a dust control program for Benchmark Cabinets. Weekly job site audits are part of her role, where she identifies potential hazards and offers corrective solutions to maintain safe environments.
When Claire isn’t working, you’ll find her out on the golf course, baking, crocheting, or visiting new coffee shops. She enjoys staying active with workout classes and spending quality time with family and friends. Her favorite spots to eat locally include Oliver’s in Peoria Heights and Ancho and Agave in Bloomington. As for snacks, Claire can’t resist Sour Patch Kids or gummy bears, and she loves settling down with a good Christmas movie.
