This project was a 63,000 sq ft renovation of the Oakland Avenue State Farm office building. In 2024, District 87 purchased the building with the intention of making the space a multi-purpose facility for the district. The Bloomington area was in need of a vocational school to expand the career options available to students after high school and the district worked up a budget to renovate the majority of the existing building. The Bloomington Career Academy offers numerous classes aimed at supporting non-traditional higher education routes. While attending the BCA, students from across Central Illinois are able to start their career path by taking alternative classes that better align with their goals and interests post graduation.
