Ground broke in June of 2024 on the Urbana Fire Station 2&3. The City of Champaign was in need of new facilities for their fire rescue and EMS teams to run their operations and better serve the Champaign County area. The pre-existing fire stations were built in the 60s and 70s and the city was due for an upgrade. The new fire stations offer state of the art technology to improve efficiency, increase arrival time, and keep the firefighters healthier.
