Pekin, IL

Because of an extremely aged facility and a growing demand, Good Shepherd Lutheran School determined that a new facility was needed. After winning a competitive process, P.J. Hoerr was chosen to be the project Design/Builder. This project was a complete interior demolition and remodel of a 39,000 square foot Leath Furniture building in Pekin, Illinois.

The remodeled facility included multipurpose space, activity areas, Pre-K through 8th-grade classrooms, a library, a computer lab, a science room, a library, a full-service kitchen and a new drop off canopy. Site work included demolition of an existing restaurant on the adjacent property for additional parking.

P.J. Hoerr was responsible for both the design and construction of the new facility. Duties included advising the project architect during design, providing pre-construction cost estimating services, developing value engineering alternatives and developing a Guaranteed Maximum Price proposal early in the process.
