140,000 Sq. Ft. Healthcare Facility Construction
P.J. Hoerr has provided BroMenn Healthcare Systems (now part of Advocate Healthcare Systems) with construction services since the mid 1990’s and was selected from a short list of regional and national contractors to construct their new 140,000 square foot patient tower addition (completed in 2012).
This four story structure houses a new mother-baby and critical care units. High level finishes, state-of-the art technologies and sustainable design elements have all been incorporated.
The project involved the demolition of a two story parking structure to set the stage for construction. A brick and glass facade encompasses the building and a unique deep foundation system (rammed aggregate piles) was employed. This will be the first application of this system in central Illinois.
